About the player
Francis Amuzu moved on to KV Mechelen and then the JMG Academy in Lier, before Anderlecht signed him into their academy in 2015. He made his senior debut in December 2017.
That month, Grêmio paid €1.2 million to bring the forward to Brazil on a contract running until December 2026. He also set up Cristian Olivera in the Campeonato Gaúcho semi-final against Juventude, and in his Copa Sul-Americana debut against Sportivo Luqueño he completed seven successful dribbles in a 2-1 victory.
Amuzu holds dual Belgian and Ghanaian citizenship. When Ghana called him up for a friendly against Mexico in May 2026, Grêmio refused to release him, so the debut did not happen.
