Mohamed Ofkir

Mohamed Ofkir came up through Vålerenga's own academy before crossing to Lillestrøm, where he made his senior debut and his run to the top of the NM Cup scoring charts in the 2016–17 season put his name on the map long before he settled into regular first-team football. A move to Belgium's Sporting Lokeren followed, but the switch abroad brought little game time, and he returned to Norway to rebuild at Sandefjord.

That rebuild took time. Ofkir shuttled between Sandefjord and Sarpsborg 08 before his second spell at Sandefjord turned into his best season by far: twelve goals in thirty matches, a return that earned him a nomination for Eliteserien Player of the Year. It was the form that persuaded Vålerenga to bring him back to the club where he had started out, this time on a four-year contract as a free transfer.

The second spell at Vålerenga has not run smoothly. Rather than establishing himself in Oslo, Ofkir has spent much of his contract out on loan — to Manisa FK in Turkey, to HamKam at home, and then to Suwon FC in South Korea — without ever nailing down a consistent run in Vålerenga's own attack. None of those loan spells produced significant goal returns. He has never been capped by Norway or Morocco at senior level, and his individual case for a recall now rests largely on the season he had at Sandefjord rather than anything more recent.
