Noah Oberbeck

Noah Oberbeck took his first steps in goal at Eintracht Groß Grönau before joining VfB Lübeck's youth setup and then moving on to Holstein Kiel's academy. His path through Kiel followed the usual route for a young goalkeeper there: several seasons with the reserve side in the Regionalliga Nord before a call-up to the first team in November 2023. He stayed with Holstein Kiel's senior squad until the summer of 2024, when he returned to VfB Lübeck, the club that had shaped him as a teenager, joining as a free agent.

That spell back in Lübeck was brief but gave him regular football, and in July 2025 Oberbeck moved on again, once more without a transfer fee, this time to SV Meppen. He signed a contract running to the end of June 2027, giving him a settled base in the 3. Liga after several years of shorter stints. Every move in his career so far has been completed on a free transfer, a pattern that reflects a goalkeeper building his path through loyalty to the clubs that gave him a chance rather than big-money deals.

Standing at 191cm, Oberbeck has the physical profile clubs look for between the posts. Earlier in his career he represented Schleswig-Holstein at regional representative level, though he has not featured for any German national youth or senior side. At SV Meppen, he now competes for a place in a team looking to establish itself in the division, carrying with him the experience of first-team football gained at Holstein Kiel and VfB Lübeck.
