About the player
Deters came up through SF Schwefingen before joining SV Meppen's academy in 2005, and made his senior debut there in 2014, going on to play for the first team until 2019.
What followed was a spell of moving around: Fortuna Düsseldorf II, LSK Hansa and VfB Lübeck each had him for a year or so. The turning point came in 2021, when he joined SC Preußen Münster. There he became a key figure as the club won the Regionalliga West title in 2022–23 and then strung together two consecutive promotions.
In 2025 he left Münster and returned to SV Meppen, the club where it had all started. He described the move back as an emotional one. Speaking on the club's podcast, Rasenschnack , in September, he compared his own path to that of Deniz Undav.
