About the player
William Hofvander's 2025 began with an injury. He signed for AIK on a free transfer on 28 December 2024. On 27 January 2025 he hurt his leg, and it kept him out for half the season.
The way back came through a loan. On 17 July 2025 he joined Örgryte IS for the rest of the year, with an option to buy. He played 13 matches, scored twice and was part of the side that took ÖIS back into Allsvenskan. Örgryte then signed him permanently on 17 December 2025, and the transfer from AIK was confirmed on 29 January 2026. His contract runs to the end of 2028.
Hofvander was born in Stockholm and came up through the youth teams of Värmdö IF, IK Frej and Djurgårdens IF. His senior career began at IFK Lidingö FK in 2020. On 1 March 2021 he moved to Hammarby TFF on a free transfer and stayed until 2023. That January he joined Umeå FC, again on a free transfer. In 2024 he helped Umeå win promotion to Superettan, the season before his move to AIK.
He is a right-footed forward who can play through the middle or on the right wing.
