«Les Lions de la Faso»
The club grew out of Tanga-Kouliga et Ali Football Club, registered under that name before being recognised on 7 March 2018 as Réal du Faso. Promotion to Ligue 1 followed only after winning Poule A of the Division 2 in the 2023–2024 season. In the Coupe du Faso, the club has gone no further than a semi-final, lost to Rahimo FC in 2025, before a quarter-final exit the following year.
Supporters know the club as Les Lions de la Faso, though around Ouagadougou it is usually just "Réal" or "Le Real".
The name most attached to Réal du Faso is Cyriaque Irié, who came through the academy from the age of 15 and was part of the side that pushed the club up through the divisions. Dijon FCO signed him in 2023 under a partnership arranged directly with Réal du Faso, and he moved on from there to ESTAC Troyes and then SC Freiburg, by which point he was already established in the Burkina Faso national team.
