Beating Canon Sportif by a single goal was not something anyone expected from a club out of Batié, yet that is what Sable did in the 1999 Super Coupe Roger Milla. The following years told a different story: Coupe du Cameroun finals lost in 2002 to Mount Cameroon de Buéa and in 2003 to Cotonsport FC de Garoua.
The 1999 championship remains the only one Batié has produced. Sable, formed in 1995 and known locally as the San San Boys, play in yellow and blue at the Stade de Batié, a ground that holds 5,000.
None of what followed matched it.
