Cristian David Pavón

At Boca Juniors, Cristian Pavón became a fixture rather than a squad player. He arrived from Talleres de Córdoba in July 2014 and, after a loan spell at Colón that yielded five goals in twenty matches, returned to Boca in 2015 to establish himself. Three Primera División titles followed, along with two Copa Argentina wins and a Supercopa Argentina, and in the 2017–18 season he was named the league's best player. He also converted the decisive penalty in the 2019–20 Copa Argentina final against Talleres, part of a run in which he never missed from the spot in that competition for Boca.

A loan to LA Galaxy in 2019 gave him his most productive run in front of goal, fourteen goals in 35 Major League Soccer appearances over two seasons, before he returned to Boca for 2021. He left for Atlético Mineiro the following year on a free transfer, winning the Campeonato Mineiro in 2023 across 62 appearances.

Grêmio made his move from Atlético Mineiro permanent in February 2024, taking on the majority of his economic rights. He has since won the Campeonato Gaúcho in 2024 and 2026 and the Recopa Gaúcha in 2025, though recurring hamstring and thigh problems have interrupted both seasons. Internationally, Pavón won eleven caps for Argentina between 2017 and 2018 and was included in the 2018 World Cup squad, wearing the number 22 shirt, without featuring in a match. He also represented the country at the 2016 Olympics.
