Jostin Alexis Alarcón Paquiyauri

Alarcón's path to professional football ran through a trial he almost missed. Deportivo Municipal, where he had come through the youth ranks, could not cover the cost of a COVID-19 test he needed for a trial at Sport Boys, and he left the academy in early 2021 as a result. Sport Boys signed him anyway, as a free agent, and he made his professional debut for the club the following month.

That first spell at Sport Boys ran through 2022 and produced 56 appearances and seven league goals, form that took him to Sporting Cristal in January 2023 for a fee of around €50,000. He settled into a regular role there, playing 28 league matches in his first season, with a goal and four assists, and adding nine appearances in the Copa Libertadores. His output grew in 2024, when he scored four goals and set up two more in 29 league games. Sporting Cristal did not add a league title during his two seasons at the club.

The move to Cristal also brought him to the attention of the national team setup. Alarcón was called up to Peru's senior squad for friendlies against Paraguay and Bolivia in November 2022 and again for World Cup qualifiers in September 2023, and more recently for friendlies against Senegal and Honduras under Mano Menezes, without yet making his debut. At youth level, he did appear for Peru's under-23 side, featuring in a friendly against Chile in 2022.

His contract with Sporting Cristal expired in mid-2025, and in July that year he returned to Sport Boys on a free transfer, back at the club that gave him his start.
