Luis Alfredo Urruti Giménez

Luis Urruti came through Cerro's youth ranks and made his senior debut there in 2013. Peñarol paid around €200,000 for him in June 2016, and he lifted the Uruguayan Primera División title with the club the following year, spending part of that campaign on loan at Fénix. He left Peñarol as a free agent in 2018 for River Plate Montevideo, where he added the Supercopa Uruguaya to his collection.

His move to Peru came via a loan to Universitario de Deportes at the end of 2019, and the switch reshaped his career: he made the transfer permanent in 2022, having obtained Peruvian citizenship that same year, and went on to win the Torneo Apertura, the Torneo Clausura and the Liga 1 title with the club. He was named Best Player of the Match in Liga 1 fixtures, including a standout display against Sport Huancayo in 2020.

A brief spell at Deportivo Garcilaso in 2024 ended in dispute: Urruti filed a notarial resignation to terminate his contract unilaterally, a step the club's legal advisor argued breached FIFA regulations. The disagreement did not stop him finding a new club, and he signed for Carlos A. Mannucci as a free agent later that year. In December 2024 he agreed a free transfer to Sport Boys, with his contract running from January 2025.

Urruti has not been capped by either the Uruguayan or Peruvian national side.
