Jorge Emanuel Morel Barrios

Jorge Emanuel Morel Barrios came up through the Club Guaraní academy in Asunción and made his professional debut in February 2016. That first spell at Guaraní brought early success: a Primera División title in the Clausura 2016 and the Copa Paraguay in 2018.

A move to Argentina followed in 2021, when Lanús signed him and gave him 20 appearances in the Liga Profesional. Playing time proved harder to come by after that, and he was loaned out twice: first to Estudiantes de La Plata in February 2022, where he made 18 league appearances, scored once and got a taste of the Copa Libertadores, then to Adana Demirspor in the Turkish Süper Lig in February 2023, adding 12 appearances and another goal before that loan ended in June 2023.

Cerro Porteño made the move permanent in July 2023, buying out his registration rights in full and tying him down on a four-year contract. He was sent back to Guaraní on loan later that year before returning to Cerro Porteño.

Morel has also represented Paraguay at senior level, debuting on 10 October 2019 in a 1–0 friendly defeat to Slovakia. He has since won nine caps for Paraguay without finding the net.
