Omar Andrés Fernández Frasica

He broke through with Academia Fútbol Club, finishing as top scorer of the Torneo Postobón Finalización in the Colombian Primera B with 11 goals in 2011, and stayed with the project when it was rebranded as Club Llaneros the following year.

His move abroad came via Peru, where FBC Melgar shaped him into a title winner. He scored in the final against Sporting Cristal as Melgar won the 2015 Peruvian Primera División, was named the league's Best Foreign Player that year, and added the Torneo de Verano in 2017. He is remembered at the club as its tenth-highest scorer in history before he moved on to Mexican football with Puebla FC.

León became the next step up, and the trophies followed: the Leagues Cup and the Campeón de Campeones, both won in 2021. Loan spells later took him to Everton in Chile and to Independiente Santa Fe in Colombia, and Santa Fe is where his career has circled back to. He signed permanently as a free agent and has been central to the club's recent run, which included the 2025 Apertura title and a 3-0 win over Junior in the Superliga de Colombia. He also finished as the top assist provider in the 2026-I Liga BetPlay season.

At youth level, Fernández represented Colombia's under-20 side, scoring against Panama in a 2012 friendly. Coach Néstor Lorenzo's staff discussed a senior call-up in 2025, though it did not lead to a debut.
