Mustangs

2014 stayed the peak: an unbeaten season, the New Jersey Athletic Conference title, and the only Division III championship the Mustangs' football programme has managed. Kevin Krogol's predecessor, Curt Fitzpatrick, ran that side, and it went into the SUNY Morrisville Athletics Wall of Fame afterwards. The team's own shorthand for the year is a single play — the "Morrisville Hurdle," a Lemar Johnson scramble that supporters still bring up.

Krogol has been in charge of the programme since 2009, long enough to have coached both the title run and the subsequent years — the Mustangs have moved through the SUNY Athletic Conference, the United East Conference and the NJAC before settling in the Empire 8.

Drake Field got a black playing surface in 2023, an unusual choice for a college pitch, and it landed the same year the athletic department switched the colour scheme to black and white with green worked in. The nickname itself points back to the school's roots as an agricultural college.

Joshua Williams has come up in conversations around the 2025 draft, but the programme still has not put a player into the NFL.
