Techiman Liberty

Further afield, Liberty gets confused with a club it has nothing to do with — Liberty Professionals, an Accra side playing in the Ghana Premier League, a division above.

Techiman Liberty itself competes in the Ghana Division One League, the country's second tier. Kamaldeen Sulemana came through the club's youth ranks between 2011 and 2013 before Right to Dream took him on, and from there his path ran through FC Nordsjælland, Stade Rennais, Southampton and Atalanta, with caps for the Ghana national team along the way. Mallam Yahaya, once a Black Stars midfielder himself, has taken charge of the first team as head coach.

Founded in 2001, Liberty has not collected a major honour in the league or in cup competitions, though it reached the 2024 DOL Super Cup as one of the better third-placed sides out of Zone 1 before going out of the tournament. The youth side, Techiman Liberty Youth, has kept the club's name active in age-group football, appearing in the MTN FA Cup and the DOL Super Cup and playing its matches at Nana Kronamansah Park and the Baffour Soccer Academy's astroturf.

For now the senior team's business remains what it has been since Sulemana left: staying competitive in the Division One League.
