Kasımpaşa and Konyspor shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium on Thursday evening. The Turkish Super League's sixth round ended 0-0, extending Kasımpaşa's unbeaten run to five matches while Konyspor's winless streak continued.
The match was characterised more by caution than creativity. Yellow cards came thick and fast — M. Ilie for Kasımpaşa in the 24th minute, C. Winck and A. Demirbag before half-time, then M. Jevtovic and R. Baniya early in the second half. By then Kasımpaşa had already made their first change, bringing on M. Rafferty for Jevtovic in the 58th minute.
Kasımpaşa looked the more dangerous side at times but found no answer. They created two big chances yet shot with just 17 per cent accuracy, with only two efforts hitting the target from seven attempts. Konyspor, on the other hand, registered four shots on target but couldn't convert their higher expected goals tally of 1.15.
The statistics tell a story of two teams that didn't quite click. Konyspor kept 53 per cent possession and made more passes into the final third — 63 to Kasımpaşa's 44 — but Kasımpaşa's higher number of attacks, 62, suggests they were the more active side. The hosts also won more aerial duels despite losing the battle in the air overall, and their goalkeeper made four saves to Konyspor's two.
For Kasımpaşa, the point takes them to nine points in fourth place, still unbeaten after five games. They had won their last league fixture 2-1 against Gençlerbirliği and drawn two of their previous three. For Konyspor, the result leaves them rooted to 16th on just three points from five matches — one win and four defeats so far this season.
