Kasımpaşa

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadyumu holds 13,797, and it is where Kasımpaşa have played out their name since the ground opened. The club takes it from the district it calls home, the shipyard quarter of Kasımpaşa on the northern shore of the Horn, though the team wasn't always known by that name — it formed in 1921 as Altıntuğ Kulübü and carried that identity for two decades before adopting Kasımpaşa SK in 1942.

What stands out about the club's record is where the silverware sits: nowhere near the Süper Lig or the Turkish Cup, both of which have eluded it, but stacked up in the promotion battles beneath. Three Third League titles, a Second League crown in 2005–06, and three separate play-off wins at First League level took Kasımpaşa up through the pyramid in stages rather than one leap, each promotion push separated by years back in the lower divisions.

Mbaye Diagne gave the club its clearest moment of individual distinction, finishing a Süper Lig season as top scorer with 12 goals while wearing the navy blue and white. The colours matter less as branding than as a marker in the local rivalry: Fatih Karagümrük sit close enough along the Golden Horn that their meetings are known as the Haliç Derbisi, a fixture shaped by geography rather than history with the Istanbul giants, whose visits are covered in the press simply as Istanbul derbies without a name of their own.

Kasımpaşa remain a Süper Lig side built on that promotion-era resilience, still measuring each campaign against the same question the lower leagues once asked repeatedly — whether they can hold their place among the clubs they fought for years to reach.
