Mladost DG secured a 2:1 victory over Otrant-Olympic in the opening round of the First League regular season on 2 August. The result from Podgorica keeps both sides level on points after one match.
Caique Chagas opened the scoring for the hosts at 45+1, catching the visitors flat-footed before half-time. Mladost DG doubled their advantage at 55 minutes, but Otrant-Olympic found a way back into it with a goal at 72. Three yellow cards were issued in the second half, with the last coming in stoppage time.
Mladost DG controlled more of the game, registering 132 attacks to 103 and holding 54 per cent possession. They registered four shots, two on target, while Otrant-Olympic managed five shots with two on target. The hosts earned three corners compared to six for the visitors.
Both sides arrive at this stage with identical records—three wins, one draw, three losses and ten points from seven games. Mladost DG sit fifth while Otrant-Olympic are fourth, though the gap between them is negligible at this point.
The hosts will be pleased with how they paid for a sloppy opening, but the draw-like nature of the second half suggests there is work to do. Otrant-Olympic have shown they can respond, but consistency remains the question for both teams.
