Ike Iroegbu Joins Zenit Saint Petersburg
The American guard signs his first contract in Russia and says he is already charmed by Saint Petersburg's canals, architecture and restaurants.
Ike Iroegbu has completed a move to Zenit Saint Petersburg, becoming the guard's first spell in Russia.
"I've never been to Russia before, but I think I'll adapt fairly well. I'm just focused on getting better every day. I don't have extremely high expectations, because I still need to adapt to a new team, new team-mates, a new city, a new culture. The city really is beautiful, especially when the weather is good and the sun is out. You see the canals, the rivers, all these beautiful buildings. You see people on boats, on jet skis... I really like this city. There are a lot of good restaurants in Saint Petersburg, but I haven't really tried Russian cuisine yet. I'm sure that once the season starts, I'll go out more often with my team-mates and start trying more Russian dishes," said the guard.
