The three-time All-Star returns to the NBA after sitting out 2025/26, agreeing a $3.5m one-year contract with Sacramento after the Knicks weighed interest.
Ben Simmons has signed a one-year deal worth $3.5m with the Sacramento Kings, ending a season away from the NBA.
Simmons sat out the whole of the 2025/26 campaign. Before that, in 2024/25, he split his time between Brooklyn and the Clippers, playing 51 matches and averaging 5.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists. The Australian has made three All-Star appearances in his career.
A one-year contract at that value points to a short-term look rather than a long-term commitment from either side. What it does for Sacramento's rotation will only become clear once the season starts.
