Cam Whitmore signs two-way deal with Nuggets

Cam Whitmore has agreed a two-way contract with the Denver Nuggets, after a season disrupted by injury.
The 22-year-old forward, the 20th pick of the 2023 draft, spent last season with the Washington Wizards but managed only 21 games after deep vein thrombosis was diagnosed in January. He averaged 9.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 16.8 minutes, shooting 54% on two-pointers and 28.6% from three.
Whitmore's route to Denver ran through Cleveland. Washington sent him there as part of a multi-team trade involving Payton Watson, and the Cavaliers then waived him. He now joins the Nuggets on a two-way deal rather than a standard contract.
