Shaquille O'Neal Named Honorary FBI Special Agent
FBI Director Kash Patel honored the Hall of Famer after O'Neal completed the Bureau's National Academy programme, continuing his long ties to law enforcement.
Shaquille O'Neal has completed the FBI National Academy programme and been made an honorary special agent, the Bureau's director, Kash Patel, has announced.
"This graduation is historic — the FBI has had the honour of welcoming one of the country's leading supporters of law enforcement, Shaquille O'Neal, who has successfully completed training with this class and become an honorary FBI special agent," said Patel.
O'Neal, a Basketball Hall of Famer, trained for police work during his playing career and served with several police departments. In 2005, while with the Miami Heat, the centre was sworn in as a reserve officer with the Miami Beach Police Department. In 2015 he took up a reserve post with the Doral Police Department.
