Ausar Thompson is set to sign a five-year, $155m contract extension with the Detroit Pistons, according to ESPN insider Shams Charania.

Between the two extensions, the Thompson family has added $363m in guaranteed money this off-season.

Thompson finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting last season. He led the league in steals per game and ranked third overall in combined steals and blocks, with 215. Across the campaign he averaged 9.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 0.9 blocks.
