The ESPN analyst used his NBA Today appearance to challenge general manager Mike Dunleavy directly, pointing to comments from Stephen Curry that Perkins read as a green light for a major move.
"Mike Dunleavy, do your damn job! Steph Curry just told you he wants to finish his career with the Golden State Warriors. He's giving you a blank cheque. Stop fighting for a play-in spot and wasting Steph's final years. The front office has to make a major trade right here, right now! Give Curry, Draymond and Kerr the help they need to compete for a championship," Perkins said.
If the front office reads Curry's remarks the way Perkins does, the pressure now sits with Dunleavy to find a trade before the season settles into another fight for a play-in place rather than a title.
