Tony Parker Becomes Head Coach of Lyon
The Basketball Hall of Famer will start his first head coaching job in 2026/27, signing a 10-year deal with Lyon while leaving the door open to the NBA.
Tony Parker will begin the 2026/27 season as a head coach for the first time,
"I am incredibly pleased. This desire has been on my mind for quite some time now. Over the last two or three years I have dreamed of returning to the court. I did a lot of coaching in my own basketball camps while I was still an active player. But after I finished my playing career I needed a break. Gradually that feeling came back. I missed the adrenaline. The desire to compete and to pass on my experience is what pushes me forward. I decided to throw myself into this completely. I am not ruling out working with the NBA at some point. But I have committed myself to Lyon for 10 years. In the NBA everything is already established. Here, especially if an agreement is reached between the NBA and the EuroLeague, there is much still to build. It is all very exciting, so I am ready to give myself fully to this project," said the Basketball Hall of Fame member.
