Kwame Brown: LeBron's Son Blocked Dalton Knecht's Chance
Ex-NBA center Kwame Brown says LeBron James's influence, including his son's presence, denied Dalton Knecht the opportunity to break out with the Lakers.
Kwame Brown says LeBron James's influence has cost other players their chance to develop, naming Dalton Knecht as the latest example.
"I used to think LeBron was just a regular person, and then I understood that he's part of a certain group, LeBron is a machine. A marketing machine. He's not his own person. And once I realised that... When you run into a machine, it puts out toxic waste. So what's supposed to look nice actually destroys everything around it. Look at the careers he's wrecked - Westbrook, and plenty of others before he even got started. There's Dalton Knecht, who never got his shot to break out because of LeBron's son," Brown said.
Knecht was taken 17th overall by the Lakers in the 2024 draft. The 25-year-old forward had a poor season last year and is now widely seen as a leading trade candidate.
