The NBA has hired the law firm Hecker Fink to investigate the four-year, $64m contract Gary Trent Jr. signed with the Milwaukee Bucks, The Athletic's Joe Vardon reports.
The league is looking into whether there was an agreement under which Trent accepted lower-paid contracts in earlier years in exchange for a large deal later. The review has been running since July.
According to Vardon, the Bucks and Klutch Sports Group, the agency that represents Trent, are cooperating with the inquiry.
