Danny Green doubts Miami Heat defence beyond Giannis and Bam

Three-time NBA champion Danny Green doubts the remade Miami Heat have the defence to go far. He singled out the pairing of Giannis and Bam as the only source of it.

"Giannis doesn't score 50 a night," Green said. "There's Bobby Portis, fine, there's Wiggs [Andrew Wiggins], there's Klay [Thompson]. What kind of offence are we talking about? And where's their defence? There's only Giannis and Bam. Do they have to clean up everything on the boards?"

Columnist Bill Simmons had raised the same concern earlier. He said the Heat would once more be fighting only for a play-in place.

If both are right, Miami's season may turn on whether anyone besides the two big men can defend. Green's list of scorers suggests the doubts are about balance rather than points.
