Indiana lost the first game of their WNBA first-round playoff series to Las Vegas 85-102, and head coach Stephanie White called the defeat a lesson.
White said it was 'experience, and nothing can replace it.'
"It's experience, and nothing can replace it. Often, in fact, you first need to be put in your place, right. I mean, that's life. You don't always learn from successes, but conclusions are drawn from painful lessons like this one."
Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, the Fever's leaders, scored 27 points between them and made 10 of 33 shots from the field.
The series is decided in two wins. Indiana must win the next game at home to stay in it.
