Luka Dončić says winning the title with the Lakers matters more to him than personal awards, after LA's second-round playoff exit last season.
Luka Dončić has set out his priority for the season: winning the title with the Lakers, ahead of any personal award.
"Realistically speaking, I'd say the championship, because if that's not your goal, I don't know what you're doing here. MVP, obviously I'd like to win that award one day, but it doesn't come if the team is playing badly. Team first, then the individual player," the Lakers guard said.
Los Angeles went out in the second round of last season's play-offs, beaten by Oklahoma City. Dončić finished fourth in the MVP voting.
