Jimmy Butler: I Can Dunk Again
Recovering from a torn ACL, Warriors star Jimmy Butler says he can already throw down dunks and vows to return even better than before.
Jimmy Butler says he can already dunk again, less than nine months after tearing his ACL.
"I can throw it down, if anyone was wondering. I'm very happy about that. It's still a long process, but at least I can play a little basketball now. And I can see all the work I've been putting in is finally starting to translate into actual basketball. The best thing about this organisation is that they tell you straight: 'No, we're not doing that.' You have to go step by step and not skip stages. Because they want me to come back at my peak, to be the player I was, the player I am, and the player I'm still going to be. But once I'm ready to play, I promise you, I'm coming back, and it's going to be... I think everyone's eyes are going to pop out of their heads at how good I still am. Probably even better than before," said the 37-year-old forward.
Butler injured his right knee on 19 January and has missed most of the season since. Golden State have not set a firm timetable for his return, though the club hopes to have him back early in 2027. No guarantees have been given.
