Aníbal Ismael Moreno

Aníbal Moreno's move to River Plate came together in December 2025, when the club paid Palmeiras $7 million for 100% of his rights and signed him to a contract running to December 2029. After coming through the Newell's Old Boys youth system and making his professional debut there in February 2019, Moreno spent two years on loan and then permanently at Racing Club, where he won the Trofeo de Campeones and the Supercopa. At Palmeiras he made 117 appearances and added the Paulista A1 title to his collection.

His first involvement for River Plate came on 24 January 2026 against Barracas Central, when he was named the standout player of the match. He has set up three goals without scoring one himself.

Moreno's path through Argentina's youth ranks included the U-20 and U-23 sides, and he was part of the squad that won gold at the 2019 Pan American Games. His senior call-up took longer to arrive: he made his debut for the national team on 14 October 2025, coming on as a substitute for Giovani Lo Celso in a 6–0 friendly win over Puerto Rico.
