A. Schlegel

Allison Schlegel arrived at North Carolina Courage in December 2025 as a free agent, signing a three-year contract with a club option for a fourth, after two seasons at Chicago Stars FC. She made 62 league appearances for the Chicago club, scoring 12 goals and setting up six more.

Her career took shape at Penn State, where she spent five years as a Nittany Lion and finished as the programme's second-highest scorer of all time, with 47 goals and 20 assists across 85 appearances. She captained the side in her final two seasons and was named a First-team All-American twice, in 2020 and 2022. Off the pitch, she also picked up the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award. Chicago took her with the 11th overall pick of the 2023 NWSL Draft.

Schlegel has represented the United States at every youth level from U-14 through U-23, and she wore the captain's armband for the U-18s. In February 2022 she was called up to the U-23 squad for the Thorns Preseason Tournament. Her path through the youth ranks began with Colorado Storm before a spell at IMG Academy.

At North Carolina, Schlegel now takes on a new chapter of her NWSL career.
