Eavery Patterson

Avery Patterson made her mark before she ever turned professional. At The Bolles School in Jacksonville, she captained the side for four years and led the Bulldogs to three consecutive FHSAA state championships. That grounding carried into a productive spell at North Carolina, where she made 72 appearances and scored 27 goals, earning Third-team All-American honours in 2023 after a First-team All-ACC selection the same year.

Houston Dash took her in the NWSL Draft in 2024, and the transition to the professional game was immediate. Patterson logged more minutes than any other Dash field player that season and was named NWSL Rookie of the Year. The following year confirmed it was no one-off: she was named to the NWSL Best XI First Team, took home the Houston Dash MVP award and was a finalist for NWSL Defender of the Year. The club rewarded her form with a contract extension through 2027.

Her form for Houston Dash opened the door to the national team. Patterson made her United States debut against Brazil in April 2025 and scored her first international goal against the Republic of Ireland that June. She has since been included in the squad for the 2026 SheBelieves Cup. It is a continuation of a pattern set at youth level, where she was part of the American side that won the 2022 CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship, scoring six goals in five games along the way.

Left-footed and deployed primarily at right back, Patterson has built her career on consistency rather than a single defining moment.
