Benjamín Chandía

Benjamín Chandía grew up playing for Barrabases Vicuña in his hometown before joining the Coquimbo Unido youth academy in 2019, aged 16. Two years later, in July 2021, he made his professional debut for the first team and has stayed at the club since, working his way into a regular starting role by 2023.

The defining moment of his career so far came on 2 November 2025, when Coquimbo Unido were crowned champions of the Chilean Primera División — the club's first title in 67 years of history, with Chandía among the squad that delivered it.

His form has drawn attention beyond Chile. In July 2025, Argentine side Estudiantes de La Plata opened talks to buy a percentage of his transfer rights, with an offer said to be around $850,000, though the move did not go through and he stayed at Coquimbo. A further approach from Universidad de Chile in January 2026 was also turned down by the club, which has him under contract until the end of 2027.

Left-footed and at 166 cm, Chandía wears the number 30 shirt for Coquimbo Unido, the only club of his senior career.
