About the player
Isabel Denise Rodriguez made her senior debut for the United States on 29 June 2025, in a friendly against Ireland, and scored in the 42nd minute of a 4-0 win. Seven months later she started again, in a 2-0 victory over Paraguay, and set up a goal.
Rodriguez came up through the Michigan Hawks before playing college football for Ohio State from 2017 to 2021, where she made 88 appearances and scored eight goals. She was named Big Ten Defender of the Year in 2020 and received the Big Ten Medal of Honor in 2022. Kansas City Current picked her in the fourth round of the 2022 NWSL Draft, 43rd overall: in July 2025 she signed a contract extension running through 2028.
At club level, she started in Kansas City's 2-0 win over NJ/NY Gotham FC that secured the 2024 NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup, and was part of the side that won the 2025 NWSL Shield with the league's best regular-season record. That season she also set a club record by playing every one of Kansas City's 26 regular-season matches, and was named to the NWSL All-Star Team and nominated for NWSL Defender of the Year.
In 2016 she won the CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship with the United States youth side.
