About the player
Katie Scott went straight from college to the professional ranks. After a single season with the Penn State Nittany Lions in 2024, in which she scored twice in the NCAA Tournament as Penn State reached the quarter-finals, she signed with Kansas City Current on a one-year deal that was later extended through 2027.
Before college, she built her name with Internationals SC in the Elite Clubs National League, where she was named a three-time ECNL All-American and a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-American. She captained the USA's under-15 side to the 2022 CONCACAF U-15 Championship, then led the under-16s to the French Mondial Montaigu title in 2023. In 2024 she won the CONCACAF U-17 Championship and played at the FIFA U-17 World Cup, where the United States took bronze. At under-20 level she scored and captained the side in a 2025 CONCACAF U-20 Championship win over Puerto Rico.
She spent part of the 2025 season on loan at Racing Louisville without making a competitive appearance, then returned to Kansas City and made her NWSL debut on 26 September 2025, starting in a 4–1 win over the Chicago Stars. That season, the club won the NWSL Shield for the best regular-season record in the league.
