About the player
Coquimbo Unido gave Lucas Pratto a Supercopa Chile straight after his arrival in January 2026. Back in 2010, on loan from Boca Juniors, he helped Universidad Católica win the Chilean Primera División and was named the league's best foreign player.
Genoa bought him in 2011, but it was back in Argentina, at Vélez Sarsfield, that he became a genuine force, winning the Torneo Inicial, the Superfinal and the Supercopa Argentina, and taking the Argentine Footballer of the Year award along with the scoring title in the 2014 Torneo de Transición.
A move to Atlético Mineiro brought the Campeonato Mineiro and personal honours as the tournament's best player, before São Paulo and then River Plate, who made him their record signing in January 2018. At River he won the Copa Libertadores that year and the Recopa Sudamericana in 2019. A loan to Feyenoord in 2021 ended in a serious ankle injury after just seven appearances.
He returned to Vélez, then moved on to Defensa y Justicia, Olimpia and a loan at Sarmiento de Junín before joining Coquimbo Unido. Internationally, Pratto won five caps for Argentina in 2016 and 2017, scoring twice, including on his September 2016 debut sequence against Venezuela and later against Colombia.
