Marcelo Makola

Marcelo Macola arrived at América Mineiro from Democrata SL in a move confirmed on 17 August 2026, brought in on the back of a scoring run that made him top marksman in Módulo II of the Campeonato Mineiro. That record was the case for the transfer: a forward who had made his name finding the net regularly in Minas Gerais's second tier for Democrata de Sete Lagoas.

Before that, Macola's career had run almost entirely through Brazil's state leagues and lower divisions, with spells at Portuguesa Santista, Passo Fundo, União Barbarense, Tupã, Inter de Bebedouro, Tanabi, Coimbra EC and URT. It is a path built on movement between smaller clubs rather than a rise through a single academy, and América Mineiro is the biggest name he has joined so far.
