About the player
Maxence Prévot spent almost two decades at the same club before leaving it. He joined FC Sochaux-Montbéliard's academy in 2004, aged seven, and stayed through the club's bankruptcy, eventually making his senior debut in 2016. By the time he departed in 2023, he had made around 212 official appearances and become the first academy graduate since 1999 to reach 200 league games for Sochaux.
His standing at the club showed in the recognition that followed him season after season: he was voted Sochaux's Player of the Month on several occasions between 2017 and 2023. Earlier still, in 2015, he had won the Coupe Gambardella with the club's youth side as they beat Olympique Lyonnais 2–0 in the final. That success came alongside three youth caps for France, across the U16, U20 and U21 age groups.
Not everything ran smoothly. He also dealt with injuries during his time in Sochaux, including problems with his meniscus and ankle ligaments.
He went on to make 25 appearances for the club.
