As Karditsa

Promotion to the Greek Basket League in 2021-22 came with the A2 Basket League title, and it changed what the club was — a side that had spent the previous decade climbing through the C and B divisions suddenly had a top-flight fixture list. The step up did not knock it back down: tenth place followed twice, then fifth in 2024-25, and for 2025-26 the club has qualified for the Basketball Champions League for the first time.

The club itself dates only to 2006, formed by merging A.S. Karditsas 21st Century and Amila Karditsas, clubs that had themselves grown out of older local sides — Aiada Karditsas, Sports Club Karditsas, G.S. Karditsas, Anagennisi Karditsas. What Karditsa kept from all of them was Giannis Bourousis, who started out as a boy at G.S. Karditsas, went on to win the EuroLeague with Real Madrid and gold with the Greek national team, then came home in 2021-22 to play for the Blue Brothers before moving into the general manager's office. The arena the club moved into for the 2019-20 season now carries his name.

Squad building here has leaned heavily on American imports over the past few seasons, a roster turned over year to year, while Leonidas Kaselakis has stayed on as captain through it, called up for Greece's EuroBasket 2022 qualifiers. Coaching has been just as restless: nine changes since 2014, with Nikos Papanikolopoulos in charge since 2023.

The New Indoor Arena in Karditsa holds 3,500.
