Bnei Herzliya

Chinanu Onuaku carried Bnei Herzliya to the only league final in the club's history as the team from Herzliya finished runners-up to Hapoel Holon in 2021–22 — a season that began with the club fighting its way out of the second-tier Liga Leumit only a year earlier. The whole run traced back to relegation in 2019, and the promotion that followed in 2021 turned into the best season the club had known: a cup final win over Hapoel Tel Aviv.

That earlier identity did not survive intact. Financial trouble at Maccabi Ra'anana and a relegation for Hapoel Herzliya pushed the two clubs into a merger in 2002, and for almost a decade the team played as Bnei HaSharon. The arrangement held only as long as Ra'anana's municipality kept paying for it; when that support was withdrawn in 2011, the club spent a season under transitional names before settling on Bnei Herzliya in 2012.

Locals still call the team HaLvanim — the Whites — after the blue and white kit, and the derby that means the most is against Maccabi Rosh HaAyin, sharpened further by two more clubs sharing the city's name: Maccabi Herzliya and Ironi Herzliya. A cup final defeat this past season kept that unfinished business alive. Home games are still played close to where it all started, at the HaYovel Arena on Rashi Street, a ground that holds no more than 1,500 but has watched the club go from a merger of convenience.
