Basketball was the first section the club ever had, and it started out as MMKS Dąbrowa Górnicza. The team was founded in 1992. It reached the national third tier only in 2003.

The climb was slow and had clear steps. In 2007/08 the side won the II Liga and went up to the 1. Promotion to the top flight came in 2014 by invitation: a wildcard put the club into the Polish Basketball League (PLK).

The trophies came in Europe. In 2022/23 the club won the Alpe Adria Cup, beating BC GGMT Vienna 86:72. The following season it won the cup again, and that final was much tighter: 90:88 against SCM Timisoara.

The club has no nickname. The mascot is a beaver called Bóbr–Dąbrowiak. They play at Hala Centrum.

The best league result is a quarter-final in the PLK, and the best cup result is a semi-final in the Polish Cup.
