«Hacienderos»
Bacolod has two teams sharing one gym, La Salle Coliseum, and when the Hacienderos face the Bacolod Masskara there, the rivalry outlasts the name on the jersey: the Masskara have gone through several identities themselves, and the Hacienderos only settled on theirs in 2026, after starting out as the Negros Muscovados, a nod to the region's unrefined brown sugar. Green, gold and black replaced the original blue and yellow before the club ever played a real fixture, and the new name shifted the tribute from the crop itself to the hacienderos, the plantation owners who built Negros Occidental's economy around it.
None of that history includes a trophy. The closest the team has come was the 2024 Division Quarterfinals, where the Quezon Huskers eliminated them 0–2, and their competitive record elsewhere reads as a climb from nothing: five defeats in five games at the 2022 Invitational, an 11th-place finish in the South Division the following year in their first full season.
Kyle Tolentino gave the early roster its name recognition, arriving as a banner player in 2023 with PBA and Letran Knights pedigree already behind him. Rolando Aledron Jr. built the team from scratch as founding coach through 2023, before Bonnie Garcia took over for a season, and Kim Cinco stepped in to lead the club through its rebrand. Brix Ramos supplied the moment locals still bring up, a game-winning layup in 2024, while Renz Palma's All-Star selection that same year suggested the homegrown pipeline, built on players like Ritcer Santillan and Bill Geolingo, had started to pay off.
It all traces back to a franchise founded in 2021 on a name borrowed from sugar rather than people, before Bacolod decided the men who owned the fields deserved the jersey instead.
