The Sarangani Capitol Gymnasium sits in Alabel and doubles as the venue the Sarangani Marlins have called home since they joined the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League in 2019. The MPBL identity is the second life of the Marlins name: the franchise relocated to Taguig in 2001. The current side entered the league as the Soccsksargen Marlins, then was suspended and rebranded as the Sarangani Marlins after a game-fixing scandal in November 2019. Sponsorship has pulled at the name since — in 2025 the team played as the Sarangani Gripper Motorcycle Tire before reverting to Sarangani Marlins for 2026.

The early record was bleak: a 1–29 season in 2019–20, the worst mark the league had seen at that point. Jeff Viernes added the league's first 50-point game in 2023. No national championship has followed.

Games against the South Cotabato Warriors, still known to many as GenSan, are among the other regular tests. The club plays in blue and white.
