Bataan Risers

Balanga sits at the tip of the Bataan peninsula, and since 2018 its provincial government has put its name on a basketball team rather than leave the sport to Manila. The Bataan Risers compete in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League's North Division, carrying the sponsor tag of Camaya Coast, a residential project on the coast the team now shares its official name with.

The franchise did not start as the Risers at all. In its first season it played as the Bataan Defenders, one of ten charter teams when the league launched, and only took its current name for 2018–19. Under Jojo Lastimosa the team went 23–2, the best regular-season record in the league, built around Gary David, the former PBA player who captained the side. A run to the playoffs in each of the first four seasons followed, but the Risers have never gone on to lift an MPBL title.

Arvie Bringas and Yves Sazon carried the local flag into MPBL All-Star selections in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

Games at home mean the Bataan People's Center in Balanga, though the team also crosses to Orion's sports complex when needed, and the province hosted the league's All-Star Game itself in 2023. The nearest thing to a fixture the crowd waits for is a trip from the Bulacan Kuyas or the Pampanga Giant Lanterns.
