«Warriors»
The line is not continuous: the first version started in 2005 in the Mindanao Visayas Basketball Association as the GenSan MP PacMan Warriors, a nod to Manny Pacquiao rather than a coincidence of initials, then became the MP–GenSan Warriors when the league merged into Liga Pilipinas in 2008. That competition folded in 2011, and the city went without the team until the 2018 MPBL expansion brought it back as the GenSan Warriors. In 2024 the franchise spent part of the season as the South Cotabato Warriors before reverting to the city name.
They play out of Lagao Gymnasium, seating 7,000, in blue, red and white. The 2018 debut side was carried in scoring by Leomar Losentes; the more recent identity of the team owes more to Cris Masaglang, named MPBL Homegrown Player of the Year in 2023, and to Kyt Jimenez, who went from that season's All-Star game to a PBA draft slot with the San Miguel Beermen.
A national title has stayed out of reach; the closest the club has come was third in the South Division in 2023, and the runner-up finish behind the Pampanga Giant Lanterns in the 2024 MPBL Preseason Invitational stands as its best result to date.
