Basketball in Isabela province had no professional side of its own until the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League opened a new expansion slot for its 2025 season, and a franchise was registered in Parañaque on 1 February that year to fill it. Within five weeks the team was on court, opening its debut campaign on 8 March.

Arth Dela Cruz set the tone for that first outing, finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds, in a roster that paired MPBL regulars with a genuine PBA name in Alex Cabagnot. Louie Gonzalez, who had previously coached the JRU Heavy Bombers, took charge for the inaugural season and steered the Cowboys to a 15–14 record, good for eighth in the North Division.

The Cowboys were back on their own floor in December, hosting the Winter Classic stop of The Asian Tournament at the Capital Arena, and reached the final before Team Aces beat them to the title.
