A name for hire before it was a name of its own: Valenzuela's franchise entered the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League in 2018 as Valenzuela Classic, one of the league's charter teams.

In the 2018 Rajah Cup, with Paulo Hubalde captaining the side and recording a triple-double along the way, Valenzuela beat the Quezon City Capitals in the quarter-finals before falling to Batangas City Athletics, the eventual champions, and finishing fourth. Four years later the team returned to the playoffs as sixth seed in the North Division, only to go out in the first round to the San Juan Knights.

Lester Alvarez made the MPBL All-Star game in 2020, and Jaymar Gimpayan and Carl Bryan Lacap followed him in 2022 and 2024, but the closest the franchise has come to the professional ranks is CJ Payawal's 28th overall selection in the 2024 PBA Draft — a departure rather than an arrival. The Northern Manila District rivalry with the Caloocan Batang Kankaloo carries no trophy and no name of its own.

What Valenzuela has not managed in any of them is a Rajah Cup or Datu title.
