Philadelphia 76ers

Wilt Chamberlain was under him, in 1967, that the club took its first championship since the move from Syracuse, beating the San Francisco Warriors. The franchise itself predates that city: it started in 1946 in Syracuse, New York, founded by Danny Biasone and known as the Nationals, and it won a title there too, in 1955, against the Minneapolis Lakers, before the relocation to Philadelphia in 1963 brought the new name — a reference to 1776, the year the Declaration of Independence was signed in the city it now called home.

The third championship, in 1983, belonged to a different pairing: Julius Erving and Moses Malone swept past the Los Angeles Lakers, and it remains the last banner the club has raised. A fourth trip to the Finals, in 2001, ended against the same Lakers.

Blue, red, navy and silver have stayed the club's colours since. Its home is the arena once known as the Wells Fargo Center, renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena this year.
