Sabah BC has not lost the top of the Azerbaijan Basketball League since it first entered it, taking the title in 2022–23 and again in every season since, four in a row through 2025–26. In the 2025–26 Basketball Champions League it became the first team from Azerbaijan to reach the group stage, and it had already opened that European account by beating Mornar 81–74 in the FIBA Europe Cup, the first win by an Azerbaijani side in that competition's regular season.

The club grew out of Sabah FC, taking on basketball as the football club's affiliate arm on 1 September 2022, and it plays under the same black, white and pink. It calls itself Bayquşlar, the Owls, and its games against Neftçi İK are billed as the Baku derby.

Endar Poladkhanli captains the side that has done the winning, while Hassani Gravett was named playoff MVP for the 2024–25 season.

With the group stage reached and a fourth straight league crown banked, Sabah BC goes into the new season trying to hold both fronts at once: defend the domestic title a fifth time and turn a first European group stage into something more than a first.
